About the Job:
As an Energy Audit Engineer for our Compressed Air Systems, you’ll serve as a regional
assessment engineer, playing a crucial role in enhancing our customers’ operations. You’ll
identify opportunities to boost the efficiency, reliability, and quality of their compressed
air systems, quantifying the business impact of these improvements and providing
tangible value to our clients.
Our compressed air assessment services are consultative, executed by dedicated
assessors who pinpoint and implement system enhancements using Ingersoll Rand

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and trust with multiple functions to understand customer financials,
    processes, and procedures.
  • Utilize experience with compressed air and strong technical aptitude to quickly assess
    problems and apply root cause analysis.
  • Analyze data gathered from investigations to identify solutions that best fit customers’
    needs.
  • Quantify compressed air waste and operational inefficiencies.
  • Investigate compressed air systems to identify issues related to efficiency, reliability, and
    quality.
  • Present findings with graphical representations and PowerPoint materials to clearly
    explain and show recommendations to customers.
  • Manage the entire assessment process, including pre-assessment research, onsite data
    gathering and presentation, and post-assessment paperwork. Provide follow-up and
    answer questions post-assessment.
    Basic Qualifications:
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree (preferred) in engineering and/or minimum 5 years of industry
    experience. Knowledge of physics, thermodynamics, and industrial processes.
  • Experience installing data loggers, flow meters, and other associated instrumentation
    (preferred, with training provided).
  • Advanced problem-solving and communication skills along with strong presentation and
    selling capabilities.
  • Solid understanding and experience with air system assessments and industry in the
    Americas region.
    Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident.
  • Base compensation, with bonus and paid travel expenses.
  • Position located remotely within the Pacific Northwest region (preferred) with travel
    required 30-50%.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License due to travel requirements.
  • Majority of the work performed at customer locations (manufacturing and process
    environments).
  • Auditing an industrial facility can involve significant walking and climbing to access
    equipment and install instrumentation for required measurements. All Ingersoll Rand
    employees receive annual training on safety policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently to identify problems and provide opportunities and
    solutions with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plans, specifications, control drawings, service
    bulletins, technical procedure manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effectively
    present information and respond to questions from service personnel.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference,
    geometry, and algebra. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and
    proportions to practical situations.
