About the Job:
Seeking a professional who bridges cutting-edge technology with client needs. As an
Applications Engineer in Sales Support, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our Sales
Team, sizing, selecting, and configuring Ingersoll Rand products to meet customer
specifications.
Reporting to the Director of Sales and Product Management, you’ll collaborate closely
with Engineering to ensure flawless execution, particularly in OEM, EPC, and major project
scenarios.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project documentation, testing, and modification of products across all stages.
  • Support sizing, selection, and configuration of solutions for customers and distributors.
  • Develop competitive project proposals in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and
    Operations teams.
  • Create drawings/models adhering to customer/application requirements and standards.
  • Recommend appropriate product solutions and consult with design engineers for
    approvals.
  • Finalize designs and generate production prints in coordination with Engineering.
  • Support Sales with CAD, 3D drawings, and BOM creation.
  • Conduct non-production project tests and resolve issues with the Outside Sales Team.
  • Assist in the quote process, understanding pricing and margin expectations.
  • Provide feedback to Product Management on MLB strategy.
  • Support activities aligned with Safety as a top Ingersoll Rand expectation.
    Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, with 2 years of relevant
    experience.
  • Intermediate/Advanced SolidWorks proficiency and Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Ability to demonstrate advanced SAP mainframe capabilities.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with technical and product knowledge
    orientation.
    Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:
  • Onsite position in Alsip, IL, with occasional travel up to 10% required.
  • US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident required.
    Key Competencies:
  • Experience with positive displacement pumps highly preferred.
  • Technical support experience, with proficiency in CAD and 3D drawings.
  • Experience in pricing/bidding on high-specification projects.
  • Product sizing and recommendation expertise.
