🎯 About the Role:
As an AI Engineer at Happenstance, you’ll be the brain behind making People Intelligence smarter — optimizing embedding pipelines, fine-tuning models, and deeply integrating LLMs into the core product. Happenstance transforms static, disjointed contact lists into a dynamic, highly searchable human database using large language models and natural language processing — and you’ll be at the heart of making that magic happen. 🧠✨

🗂️ Key Responsibilities:

• 🔍 Optimize the search pipeline with better retrieval and ranking to improve accuracy and relevance of people search results
• 🧪 Run experiments to continuously improve search quality, relevance scoring, and research output accuracy
• 🤖 Integrate new LLM capabilities into the product — including RAG pipelines, vector embeddings, and OpenAI APIs
• 📊 Build robust evaluation frameworks to quantify search accuracy and measure research quality across the platform

✅ Requirements:

🔑 Must-Haves:

• 🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field
• 🐍 Strong proficiency in Python for building and optimizing AI/ML systems
• 🔎 Hands-on experience with Vector Databases, Embeddings, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
• 💬 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias for experimentation and fast iteration

🛠️ Technical Skills:

• 🤖 Solid experience with OpenAI APIs and LLM integration into production products
• 🏗️ Experience with LLM fine-tuning, AI research, or advanced prompt engineering (strongly preferred)
• 📐 Ability to design and execute rigorous evaluation frameworks for AI systems
• ☁️ Familiarity with cloud infrastructure for deploying scalable AI pipelines
