🎯 About the Role:

🗂️ Key Responsibilities:

  • 🗄️ Implement core data indexing and ingestion pipelines for new data sources — ensuring fast, accurate, and reliable data flow across the platform
  • 🔌 Design and build a public API for Happenstance’s search — creating developer-friendly, scalable, and well-documented interfaces
  • ⚡ Proactively identify performance optimizations and scaling bottlenecks before they become problems — keeping the platform blazing fast
  • 🏗️ Build integrations with third-party services and scale container architecture to manage infrastructure confidently at growing demand

✅ Requirements:

🔑 Must-Haves:

  • 🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 🐍 Strong proficiency in Python for building production-grade backend systems
  • ☁️ Solid hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services
  • 💬 Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset

🛠️ Technical Skills:

  • 🗃️ Deep experience with PostgreSQL (Postgres), DynamoDB, S3, and Redis for data storage and caching
  • 🔗 Proven track record in API Design — RESTful, scalable, and developer-friendly
  • 🐳 Experience scaling container architecture (Docker/Kubernetes) and managing infrastructure at scale
  • ➕ Experience with distributed systems or CLI tooling is a strong plus!
