🎯 About the Role:
As a Design Engineer at Happenstance, you’ll sit at the exciting intersection of product design and frontend engineering β€” owning the entire user experience from search results UI to the Chrome extension, website, and integrations.
This is not a traditional product designer role and not a typical frontend developer role β€” it requires someone who can move seamlessly between design and production code, shipping high-quality, delightful products that users love. ✨


πŸ—‚οΈ Key Responsibilities:

  • 🎨 Redesign and own the UI for search results, the Happenstance website, Chrome extension, and third-party integrations β€” crafting delightful, reusable React components along the way
  • πŸ”„ Create conversion funnels and run A/B tests on onboarding flows to continuously improve user activation and retention
  • πŸ—οΈ Implement advanced UI features including table search, filters, and virtualization for smooth performance at scale
  • πŸ“Š Prototype ideas quickly, ship high-quality products, and iterate fast based on user feedback and analytics from PostHog

  • πŸŽ“ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, UI/UX Design, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • βš›οΈ Strong proficiency in React and component-based frontend architecture
