About the Role:
Mastercard is hiring a Software Engineer (R) to join its Economics Institute. In this role, you will work with data scientists and economists to turn complex data into meaningful insights. You’ll build data visualizations, develop R-based tools, and create interactive dashboards that help drive real-world economic decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about data, analytics, and impactful technology.

Key Responsibilities:
📌 Develop reusable R functions and packages for data analysis
📌 Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards
📌 Build scalable Shiny applications for interactive insights
📌 Work with SQL databases and big data platforms
📌 Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists, engineers, economists)
📌 Maintain clean, well-documented, and scalable code
📌 Use tools like Git for version control and collaboration

Requirements:
🎯 Strong proficiency in R and RStudio (or similar IDEs)
🎯 Experience with R packages like dplyr for data manipulation
🎯 Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
🎯 Familiarity with Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket
🎯 Experience with data visualization tools (Plotly, D3.js, etc.)
🎯 Understanding of front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js is a plus)
🎯 Ability to work independently and in teams
🎯 Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
