๐กAbout the Role:
As a Medical Safety Lead, you’ll be responsible for supporting drug surveillance and clinical safety activities across clinical development and post-marketing programs.
You’ll analyse safety information, evaluate adverse events, identify potential safety signals and contribute to regulatory documentation.
But there’s another interesting layer.
Novartis is looking for professionals who can help apply AI-enabled solutions and AI agents to improve pharmacovigilance processes. ๐ค

๐Key Responsibilities:
๐ Monitor clinical safety data, literature, case reports and signal detection activities ๐
๐ Conduct medical assessments of individual adverse-event cases
๐ Identify, evaluate and monitor safety signals
๐ Support regulatory authority responses and healthcare professional safety inquiries
๐ Contribute to clinical overviews, summary reports and other safety documents ๐
๐ Provide medical input into aggregate safety reports and regulatory submissions
๐ Collaborate with global clinical development teams
๐ Guide adverse-event coding and causality assessments
๐ Interpret clinical safety data and communicate insights to stakeholders
๐ Support safety issues, risk escalations, compliance matters and labelling updates
๐ Drive the use of AI-enabled solutions to improve pharmacovigilance processes ๐ค
๐ฏRequirements:
๐ฏ Degree in Pharmacy, Nursing, Pharmacology, Life Sciences or Medicine ๐ฉบ
๐ฏ 3+ years of experience in drug development within a pharmaceutical company
๐ฏ 2+ years of patient-safety experience is preferred
๐ฏ Medical degree required for positions involving medical review of individual case safety reports
๐ฏ Knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements
๐ฏ Understanding of scientific methodology and statistical principles
๐ฏ Experience contributing to scientific publications is valuable
๐ฏ Strong analytical and clinical safety data interpretation skills
๐ฏ Excellent written and spoken English
๐ฏ Experience with safety reports and regulatory documentation
๐ฏ Strong cross-functional communication and issue-management skills
