🌟The best technology isn’t just powerful.

It’s usable by everyone.

At Apple, accessibility isn’t an afterthought. It’s part of how technology should be designed.

As a Web Accessibility Engineer, you’ll help evaluate and improve digital experiences so that websites, applications and services work for people with different abilities.

For an early-career engineer, this is an opportunity to combine front-end development with a skill that is becoming increasingly important across the technology industry: digital accessibility.

🌟About Apple:
Apple is a global technology company known for products and services spanning hardware, software and digital experiences.

Its Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) organization supports the systems and infrastructure behind Apple’s global operations and customer experiences.

Within IS&T EMEIA, Apple’s Accessibility Center of Excellence works with teams across the organization to embed accessibility into websites, applications, internal systems and digital services.

💡About the Role:
Apple is looking for a passionate Web Accessibility Engineer to join its Accessibility Center of Excellence in Bengaluru.

You’ll evaluate web applications using established accessibility testing methodologies, document accessibility issues and recommend practical improvements.

You’ll work closely with product, design and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle, helping accessibility become part of the product rather than something addressed at the end.

You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to accessibility training, tooling and standards while developing your expertise.

This isn’t just about fixing code.

It’s about removing barriers between people and technology.

📌Key Responsibilities:
📌 Perform accessibility evaluations of web applications using established testing methodologies.

📌 Identify accessibility issues and document findings clearly.

📌 Provide actionable recommendations for accessibility remediation.

📌 Support accessible code fixes using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

📌 Test digital experiences using assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, JAWS and NVDA.

📌 Apply knowledge of WCAG 2.x and WAI-ARIA specifications during accessibility reviews.

📌 Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams throughout project lifecycles.

📌 Support accessibility reviews and remediation initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.

📌 Contribute to accessibility training materials and internal learning resources.

📌 Help improve accessibility tooling and standards as your expertise develops.

📌 Manage tasks across multiple workstreams while collaborating with the wider team.

🎯Requirements:
🎯 0–2 years of experience in web accessibility and/or front-end engineering.

🎯 Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

🎯 Familiarity with WCAG 2.x accessibility guidelines.

🎯 Understanding of WAI-ARIA specifications.

🎯 Experience testing websites or applications using assistive technologies.

🎯 Familiarity with VoiceOver, JAWS or NVDA.

🎯 Ability to identify accessibility issues in web applications.

🎯 Ability to contribute to accessible code fixes.

🎯 Strong verbal and written communication skills.

✅ Work alongside product, design and engineering teams.

✅ Exposure to accessibility standards, testing methodologies and assistive technologies.

✅ Opportunity to develop expertise in an increasingly important area of web engineering.

✅ Contribute to technology designed to create better experiences for everyone.

🔥Career Insight:
Most developers learn how to make websites work.

Fewer learn how to make them work for everyone.

That difference matters.

Accessibility combines technical knowledge with empathy, standards, testing and problem-solving.

And as digital products become more complex, companies need engineers who understand not only how to build interfaces, but also how different people experience them.

Learning accessibility early can give a front-end engineer a powerful specialization — one that sits at the intersection of technology, design and human experience.
