💡About the Role:
As Senior Manager – Accounting, you will join MongoDB’s Corporate Accounting team within Controllership in Gurugram.

You will lead corporate accounting activities, oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, maintain balance-sheet integrity, and ensure accurate accounting across multiple global entities.The role also involves SOX compliance, audit coordination, process automation, and leadership of accounting professionals. You will work closely with Finance, Tax, Legal, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting, FP&A, and global accounting teams.

📌Key Responsibilities:
📊 Corporate Accounting & Global Financial Close

• Lead and review monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate accounting activities.
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of journal entries, account analyses, and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Review financial variances and prepare clear flux explanations.
• Coordinate with global accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain consistent accounting practices.
• Support consolidation, intercompany accounting, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and lease accounting.
• Partner with SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting teams to provide accurate financial schedules and supporting documentation.

🛡️ Internal Controls, Compliance & Audit

• Maintain and strengthen accounting controls and SOX compliance processes.
• Ensure proper control execution, documentation, and audit evidence.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors during walkthroughs, quarterly reviews, and annual audits.
• Support remediation of control gaps and improve accounting documentation.
• Ensure accounting processes follow applicable policies and reporting standards.

⚙️ Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify opportunities to improve financial data quality and reporting efficiency.
• Reduce manual work through automation of close and reconciliation processes.
• Develop scalable accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Improve operational consistency across multiple entities and global reporting cycles.

👥 Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals.
• Establish clear expectations for quality, accountability, and performance.
• Coordinate activities across global accounting teams.
• Communicate complex accounting matters clearly to Finance leadership.
• Build strong working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Represent the Controllership function with sound judgment and professionalism.

🎯Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Significant experience in corporate accounting, global close, or controllership.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and corporate accounting processes.
• Experience working in a public-company or similarly complex financial environment.
• Knowledge of multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
• Strong experience with balance-sheet reconciliations and financial close management.
• Experience working in a SOX-controlled environment.
• Ability to coordinate with internal and external auditors.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing accounting professionals.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities during financial close and reporting cycles.
