About the Department:
The Government & Policy Affairs – Commercial department at Maruti Suzuki India Limited
is dedicated to engaging with key policy and regulatory stakeholders at both the Centre
and State levels. The department focuses on areas that significantly impact the Indian Auto
Industry and the company’s business, such as gas-based mobility regulations, EPR for
Circular Economy, safeguard/anti-dumping duties, Quality Control Orders, Production
Linked Incentive Schemes, and more.
About the Role:
As an Analyst & Policy Advocacy professional, you will study, analyze, and represent policy
issues that have a significant impact on the company’s business. Your responsibilities will
include securing necessary approvals and permissions from bodies like BIS, PESO, DPIIT,
and QCO, as well as mapping and engaging with critical stakeholders (e.g., Ministry of
Heavy Industries, DGTR, DPIIT, BIS, NITI Aayog, SIAM, CII, FICCI). You will prepare
compelling presentations for government agencies and support internal teams with
facilitation needs to ensure business continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
→ Policy Analysis & Representation:
o Study, analyze, and represent on policy issues (e.g., anti-dumping duties,
safeguard duties, Production Linked Incentives, circular economy
regulations) that impact the business.
o Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to government bodies.
→ Approval & Compliance:
o Secure desired approvals/permissions from relevant authorities (e.g., BIS,
PESO, DPIIT, QCO) to ensure business continuity.
→ Stakeholder Engagement:
o Identify and map all critical stakeholders in the policy advocacy space,
including government agencies, industry bodies, and associations (e.g.,
Ministry of Heavy Industries, DGTR, DPIIT, BIS, NITI Aayog, SIAM, CII, FICCI).
o Build and nurture strong relationships within the government and policy
circles.
→ Internal Support:
o Assist internal departments at Maruti Suzuki with any facilitation required
from government interactions.
→ Reporting & Insights:
o Provide insights on policy trends and support the development of strategies
that align with business needs.
Requirements:
→ Proven ability to analyze complex policy issues and understand their impact on the
automotive industry.
→ Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively
with government officials and industry stakeholders.
→ Experience in stakeholder mapping and relationship management within policy or
regulatory frameworks.
→ Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced
environment.
→ A proactive mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
