About the Role:
As the Area Parts Manager – Service Network (CVBU), you will be responsible for managing
parts operations across the service network for Tata Motors’ Commercial Vehicle Business
Unit. Your role is crucial to ensuring the timely availability of quality parts, optimizing
inventory levels, and supporting smooth service operations. You will coordinate with
suppliers, service centers, and various internal departments to drive process
improvements and operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and ensure the timely supply of parts
to service centers, minimizing downtime and avoiding shortages. - Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and the procurement team to secure quality
parts at competitive prices. - Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements to optimize parts
distribution and reduce overall costs. - Data Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to parts management
and provide insights for operational enhancements. - Collaboration: Work closely with the service network and operations teams to align parts
management strategies with overall business objectives. - Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory
requirements in all parts management activities. - Reporting: Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, supplier performance, and parts
availability for senior management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in parts management or supply chain roles within the
automotive industry. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record in managing
inventory and optimizing supply chain processes. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
effectively across departments. - Proficiency in ERP systems and relevant software is preferred.
