About the Role:

As an Automation QA Engineer at MakeMyTrip, you will develop and maintain robust
automated testing frameworks to ensure our travel platform remains reliable under heavy
load and rapid feature releases. You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams—
product, development, and operations—to define test strategies that uphold our high
quality standards while enabling fast iteration.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Strategy & Planning:
o Define end‑to‑end test plans covering automation, performance, and
regression.
o Select tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG) to maximize
test coverage and ROI.
Automation Development:
o Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for web and
mobile applications.
o Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for nightly and on‑demand
test runs.
Process Improvement:
o Analyze existing QA processes, recommend enhancements, and
implement best practices for efficiency.
o Develop dashboards to monitor test execution, defect trends, and
code‑quality metrics.
Collaboration & Coaching:
o Work with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve defects.
o Mentor junior QA engineers on automation tools, testing techniques, and
code quality.

Requirements:

Experience:
o 3 – 5 years in QA or SDET roles, with a strong focus on test automation.
Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java) and automation
frameworks (Selenium WebDriver, Appium).
o Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version
control (Git).
o Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter) and source‑level
debugging.
Methodologies:
o Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum processes and SDLC.
o Expertise in writing clear, maintainable, and reusable test code.
Soft Skills:
o Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
o Self‑starter mindset with attention to detail and a passion for quality.
