About the Role:
💻 Join the Product Engineering Support team (z Hardware or z/OS) to design and execute productivity aids and infrastructure tools that support IBM mainframe serviceability and reliability.Gain firsthand exposure to enterprise mainframe environments, understanding what large customers expect from IBM and the technical complexity of z Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 🛠 Assist in designing and developing productivity aids and tooling to improve mainframe support infrastructure for z Hardware/z/OS teams.
  • 🧩 Apply programming and debugging skills (C/C++/Java/Assembly, scripting) to build and troubleshoot backend components and support workflows.
  • 🤝 Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, contributing to service structures and the serviceability of IBM mainframe products.

Requirements:

Required Technical & Professional Skills:

  • 🎯 Passion for a career in Computer Engineering/Computer Science with fundamental education in software design and/or test.
  • 🧱 Understanding of computer architecture; knowledge of at least one language (C, C++, Java, Assembly).
  • 🐍 Scripting knowledge in Python, JavaScript, Perl, Bash; good debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • 💬 Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaborative, team-focused environment.

Preferred:

  • 🖥️ Knowledge of mainframes and computer networking; familiarity with web/mobile app development.
  • 🧰 Experience with tools like Git/GitHub, IntelliJ or similar IDEs.
