About the Role:

As a CAE Engineer / Analyst – Crash & Safety CAE at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, you will
focus on Vehicle Crash CAE Simulation & Evaluation. You will work on full vehicle
simulations using LS-Dyna, model crash scenarios, and evaluate occupant safety to drive
improvements in design. Your role involves preparing detailed CAE models using tools such
as HYPERMESH, ANSA, or PRIMER, performing mesh discretization, assembly, and setting
constraints and loads for automotive sub-systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

CAE Modeling & Simulation:
o Prepare full vehicle CAE models using HYPERMESH/ANSA/PRIMER (mesh
discretization, assembly, constraints & load setting) for automotive sub
systems and components.
o Perform system and full vehicle simulations using LS-Dyna software,
focusing on crash and occupant safety.
Model Optimization:
o Optimize and enhance model robustness using tools like DiffCrash,
ModeFrontier, and LS-OPT.
Result Interpretation & Reporting:
o Interpret simulation results using LS-PrePost, HyperView, or Hypergraph.
Analyze failure modes and provide countermeasure directions through
parameter studies.
o Prepare comprehensive analysis reports and communicate findings with
design, testing, and other stakeholder teams.
Collaboration with Testing Teams:
o Interact with testing teams to correlate CAE results with physical testing
outcomes and improve CAE methodologies.
Process & Improvement:
o Contribute to process improvements and support value enhancement
initiatives in crash and safety testing.

Required Competencies:

Technical/Functional:
o Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials, and a sound understanding
of the theory of Elasticity/Plasticity.
o Good knowledge of automotive body, sheet metal, and plastic part design.
o Familiarity with AIS Safety Regulations and NCAP protocols.
o Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with experience in the
automotive Crash & Occupant Safety CAE domain.
o Skilled in preparing CAE models in Hypermesh, and performing analysis
using LS-Dyna and post-processing in HyperView/LS-PrePost.
o Ability to debug CAE models, interpret FEA results, and prepare detailed
reports with countermeasure proposals.
o Exposure to physical testing and correlating test conditions in CAE is
preferred.
Behavioural:
o Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
o Achievement-oriented, a team player, and effective at networking.
o Flexible and adaptable to evolving project requirements.
