About the Role:
As a CAE Engineer/ Analyst – Strength & Durability CAE, you will focus on evaluating the
strength and durability of vehicle components related to body, chassis, and closures. You
will use CAE tools to perform both linear and non-linear strength and durability analyses,
interpret the results, and recommend countermeasures to address failure modes. You will
also be responsible for creating detailed documentation, collaborating with testing teams
for correlation with physical tests, and supporting value enhancement proposals.
Key Responsibilities:
→ CAE Modeling & Analysis:
o Create CAE models including mesh discretization, assembly, and setting
constraints & loads for automotive sub-systems (primarily Body & Chassis
Structure & Closures).
o Conduct strength and durability analysis for both linear and non-linear
cases.
→ Result Interpretation & Documentation:
o Interpret analysis results, understand failure modes, and recommend
countermeasures for performance improvement.
o Document findings and communicate results effectively with design and
testing teams.
→ Collaboration & Support:
o Work closely with testing teams to analyze failures and correlate CAE
outcomes with physical testing data.
o Support the generation and evaluation of value enhancement proposals.
→ Technical Evaluation:
o Utilize CAE tools such as Hypermesh for model preparation, and perform
analysis using Nastran & LS-Dyna, followed by post-processing in HyperView
& LS Pre-Post.
o Gain exposure to fatigue evaluation tools (e.g., FEMFAT, MSC Fatigue,
NCode) and multibody simulation software (e.g., ADAMS) as a plus.
o Understand basic optimization tools (e.g., Optistruct, Mode Frontier) to
further enhance designs.
Required Competencies:
→ Technical/Functional Skills:
o Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials, Machine Design, and Fatigue.
o Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and experience in the CAE
domain for Body Structures & Closures.
o Familiarity with automotive body and sheet metal design.
→ Behavioural Skills:
o Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
o Achievement orientation, teamwork, and effective networking abilities.
