Role Overview:

  • This role manages 24×7 cloud database environments (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) backing revenue-generating, externally facing applications under strict SLAs.
  • You will work closely with R&D, Technical Support, and NOC, plus developers, to ensure high availability, performance, and efficient database structures and access methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 🛠 Assist in maintenance and operations of 2500+ database environments on Linux and Windows across AWS and Azure.
  • 💾 Perform regular database maintenance: backups, restores, archiving/quarterly patching, and log review for errors or potential issues.
  • 📉 Monitor and manage space capacity; optimize performance in collaboration with other DBAs, developers, and infrastructure teams.
  • 🧩 Work with dev teams on schema design, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and triggers; handle installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching.
  • 🔐 Design, implement, and periodically test backup and recovery procedures; participate in on‑call schedule and use Oracle Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control and SQL Server tools for monitoring/troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • 🎓 Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
  • 🧮 2–4 years as a Database Administrator in 24×7, high‑availability environments.
  • 🧱 Strong Oracle experience including ASM (19c) and RAC, managing multiple RDBMS in HA/clustered environments.
  • 🗄 Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server (2014–2022) and PostgreSQL (v13+) in production; experience managing these on AWS/Azure is highly desirable.
  • 🐧 Mid-level skills on Linux (RHEL & derivatives) and Windows Server 2016+; good understanding of networking and storage concepts (iSCSI, Fibre Channel).
