About the Role:
📊 As a Data Scientist, AI Video Agent, you will build and scale OpusClip’s data capabilities across growth, CRM/CX, payments, web tracking, experimentation, and LLM-driven analytics.You’ll sit at the intersection of data engineering, applied data science, and product strategy—designing pipelines, models, and experiments that directly power OpusClip’s growth and AI products.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Infrastructure
- 🧱 Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines across sources like GCS, Intercom, data warehouses, Superset, and third-party SaaS platforms.
- ☁ Ensure scalable ingestion, transformation, and governance of structured and unstructured data for analytics and AI workloads.
Applied Data Science & Analytics
- 📈 Lead advanced analyses on growth, CRM/CX, payment flows, and web tracking to uncover insights and opportunities.
- 🎯 Build marketing-attribution models to measure ROI and optimize spend; analyze user lifecycle, retention, and churn risk.
- 💰 Qualify upsell leads, recommend upsell triggers, and estimate CLV; develop predictive models for personalization and recommendations.
- 🧩 Create user segmentation/tagging frameworks and drive training/tuning of AI across product, engineering, GTM, and CX teams.
- 😃 Evaluate CX metrics (NPS, CSAT, support efficiency) and establish best practices in A/B testing and post-experiment evaluation.
Experimentation & Insights
- 🧪 Partner with product, business, and customer success teams to design experiments, select metrics, and interpret results.
- 📐 Drive rigor in experiment design, causal inference, and insight communication to influence product and GTM decisions.
Requirements:
Location
- 📍 On-site in Burnaby, BC, 5 days per week (no remote/hybrid option for this role).
Experience & Education
- 🎓 3–6 years in data-related roles with strong IC ownership; Bachelor’s or Master’s in a quantitative discipline.
- 🚀 Proven track record of leading projects end-to-end in fast-paced, high-ownership startup environments.
Technical Expertise
- 🐍 Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience across the data lifecycle.
- 🛠 Experience with modern data stack: BigQuery, dbt, Superset, Statsig, and orchestration tools like Airflow.
- ☁ Solid data engineering skills with cloud storage (GCS), NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and SaaS integrations.
- 📓 Mastery of notebooks (Jupyter, Databricks), working from raw data to reproducible analyses.
- 🤖 Familiarity with LLM and agent workflows and commitment to pushing the frontier of AI in production.
- 🔁 Strong end-to-end skills: ingestion, cleaning, modeling, analysis, deployment, and monitoring.
AI & Analytics Literacy
- 🧠 Passionate about building pipelines using modern AI agent/LLM-based SaaS tools; excited by agentic workflows.
- 🎛 Preferred experience with reinforcement learning (RL) and experimentation frameworks, ideally with HITL evaluation.
- 🗂 Working knowledge of vector DBs (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) and RAG pipelines for LLM apps.
- 📊 Deep experience in A/B testing and experimentation platforms with strong statistical intuition and actionable insights.
Domain Experience
- 💼 Exposure to CRM/CX, payments, web tracking, and user data.
- 🤝 Experience building data products that support BD and customer-facing use cases.
