🎯 About the Role:
As an Engineering Manager – Backend at Meesho, you’ll lead a high-performing team of engineers building systems that serve millions of Indian households every single day.You’ll own end-to-end delivery of backend projects — from architecture decisions to performance evaluations — while nurturing talent and driving Meesho’s mission to democratize internet commerce. 💡

🗂️ Key Responsibilities:

  • 🏗️ Design and delegate engineering tasks as per Meesho’s guidelines while taking full ownership of product scalability and project delivery
  • 📊 Conduct regular performance evaluations, share constructive feedback, and monitor the progress of all ongoing engineering projects
  • 🤝 Collaborate seamlessly with sales and design teams to innovate on new products and drive sprint planning and OKRs
  • 🧑‍🏫 Transform junior engineers into seasoned experts — building high-trust, high-performance teams through regular meetings, mentorship, and blameless postmortem culture

✅ Requirements:

🔑 Must-Haves:

  • 🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 🏆 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 👥 2+ years of experience managing software development teams
  • 📋 Proven ability to drive sprints and OKRs with an ownership mindset

🛠️ Technical Skills:

  • 🗄️ Deep understanding of transactional (MySQL, MongoDB) and NoSQL databases (ScyllaDB)
  • 📨 Strong expertise in messaging systems — especially Kafka
  • ☁️ Solid hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure — AWS / GCP
  • ⚙️ Expertise in Java / Python and multithreading for building large-scale distributed systems
  • ➕ Good to have: Data pipelines and Elasticsearch (ES)
