About the Role:
📊 As a Financial Data Analyst in the Regulatory & Compliance Engineering organisation, you will work at the intersection of data, finance, and regulation.You’ll build and own data pipelines, model financial data, respond to regulatory, tax, and accounting requirements, and create dashboards that deliver accurate, timely, and reliable reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 🔍 Collaborate with engineering, accounting, financial partnerships, and product teams to analyse regulatory, tax, and accounting requirements, combining data from multiple upstream sources.
  • 📈 Build simple, usable dashboards that deliver regulatory reports and communicate clear financial data to internal stakeholders.
  • 🌍 Interface with partners globally to align how Stripe uses their products, and hold them accountable to resolve day-to-day operational breakages.
  • 🤖 Independently scope and automate manual processes, driving cross-functional initiatives to successful completion.

Requirements:

  • 📚 3+ years in Data Analytics, Technical Operations, BI, or similar, ideally in accounting/finance/financial data environments.
  • 🧮 Strong experience with advanced SQL and building ETL/data pipelines on modern cloud data stacks (BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Git).
  • 💸 Background working with financial data (P&L, balance sheets, reconciliations, journal entries, transaction-level modelling).
  • 🤝 Proven ability to manage communication and workflows with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including external financial partners and vendors.

Nice to Have:

  • 🎓 Advanced STEM degree.
  • 🏦 Experience in regulatory/compliance reporting and double-entry ledger principles, plus distributed frameworks like Hadoop/Spark and solid engineering practices (code reviews, testing).
