Responsibilities & Key Deliverables:
- Lead a team of Engineers for Design and development of BIW (Body in White).
- Create Concepts and data inputs for Business case preparation and project costing.
- Propose Product specs and target setting for specific products.
- Knowledge of Advanced Materials and manufacturing processes used in BIW.
- Conduct Feasibility study of Styling surfaces CAS0 to Class A for trims parts.
- Develop Master Sections, 3D CAD modeling of Engineering surfaces, considering
vehicle parts packaging. - Lead Interaction with Development Team, CME, Suppliers, and Tool makers for
Manufacturing. - Incorporate Changes suggested in DFM, CAE, DMU feedback, Service & Draw
simulation into engineering data. - Conduct Benchmarking study for competition vehicles and systems.
- Resolve concerns at assembly plant and field during development and post-launch.
- Interact with Vehicle integration, CME, and other Body/Vehicle aggregates for part
integration into the vehicle. - Prepare Technical Requirement Document, Responsibility Matrix, and DVP for BIW.
- Interact with Styling team for Feasibility study of A class surface for tooling direction
determination, draft analysis
Experience:
12-16 years’ experience in the Automotive industry.
Qualifications:
B.E/B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
General Requirements:
- Strong experience in leading engineering teams.
- Proficient in CAD and drafting.
- In-depth knowledge of BIW materials and processes.
- Expertise in feasibility studies and benchmarking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
