About the Role:

Scriptwriter for Viral Gangsta Rap/ True Crime Documentaries (Remote / Per Project)
We’re one of the top documentary channels on YouTube, renowned for deep dives into
the raw, unfiltered world of gangsta rap, drill music, and true crime. Our videos regularly
hit millions of views, and now we need a new scriptwriter who is passionate about
Gangsta Rap, True Crime, and Street Culture. Your deep cultural knowledge, factual
accuracy, and engaging storytelling will be essential to crafting scripts that grip viewers
from the first line to the last. This role is remote and offered on a per-project basis—ideal
for offshore talent, where our competitive pay stretches further.

Key Responsibilities:

Scriptwriting:
o Craft long-form scripts that explore gangsta rap, true crime, and street
culture with precision and flair.
Content Development:
o Produce factually accurate and gripping narratives that keep viewers
engaged throughout the video.
Research & Integration:
o Utilize modern research methods (e.g., Reddit, Google Advanced Search,
Twitter advanced search) to ensure content is well-informed and current.
Collaboration:
o Work with the team to incorporate feedback quickly and adapt scripts
based on notes.
Timely Delivery:
o Meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality in storytelling.

Requirements:

  • Experience writing essays, video scripts, or long-form content.
  • A deep interest in hip hop, gangsta rap, drill, and/or true crime.
  • A keen eye for detail—ensuring factual accuracy, strong grammar, and a
    compelling narrative.
  • A unique tone that skillfully blends street knowledge with serious
    storytelling.
  • Ability to consistently hit deadlines and adapt quickly to feedback.
  • Proficiency in modern research methods (e.g., Reddit, Google Advanced
    Search, Twitter advanced search).
    Bonus Points:
  • Prior experience writing YouTube scripts.
  • Knowledge of Chicago drill music, gang subreddits, and street history.
  • Ability to think like a journalist but write like a novelist.
