About the Job:

Join our team to design and build cutting-edge hardware, software, and networking
technologies that power Google’s services. As a Materials Engineer, you’ll lead projects in
various areas within data center facilities, contributing to construction, equipment
installation, troubleshooting, and debugging.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in designing mechanical components and using CAD tools.
  • Experience in materials science and engineering for research and product development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in IT physical infrastructure fields such as cooling, power, and mechanical.
  • Expertise in analytical methodologies and total cost of ownership frameworks for
    assessing materials technologies.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive innovation solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in materials science and engineering for IT physical
    infrastructure.
  • Lead critical deliverables for materials development and engineering for IT products and
    systems.
  • Develop new approaches to optimize materials engineering processes for IT machines
    and physical infrastructure.
  • Incubate new materials technologies and contribute to the physical infrastructure
    roadmap.
