About the Role:
As a Network Engineer L1, you will handle first-level network monitoring, basic fault diagnosis, escalation, and resolution while following ITIL processes.The role involves shift-based operations (24×7), daily maintenance, SLA reporting, troubleshooting network/application issues, and vendor coordination to ensure network reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
📌 Perform 1st level network monitoring and basic fault finding/escalation
📌 Execute day-to-day maintenance, backups, and periodic performance reporting
📌 Manage incident tickets, change requests, and SLA compliance (uptime, bandwidth utilization reports)
📌 Troubleshoot Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), and Spanning Tree issues
📌 Liaise with carriers/vendors for fault resolution and generate utilization/hardware reports
📌 Follow documented processes for incident management and operational efficiency
Requirements:
🎯 B.E/B.Tech/MCA with CCNA certification and 2+ years hands-on networking experience
🎯 Knowledge of ITIL, IOS/CatOS, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing/switching protocols
🎯 Familiarity with network monitoring tools, ticket/change management systems
🎯 Strong communication skills and ability to work in 24×7 shift rotations
🎯 Understanding of cross-platform Cisco technologies
