Role Overview:

  • As a Backend SDE Intern, you will work with the engineering team to design, develop, and maintain backend systems for CloudSEK’s cybersecurity products.
  • The role is heavily hands-on in Node.js or Go, with exposure to modern backend patterns, security-focused features, and startup-style ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the development team to build and maintain backend services and components for security products (APIs, microservices, integrations).
  • Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in Node.js or Go, participate in code reviews, and help debug performance and functional issues.
  • Work with front-end developers, data scientists, and product managers to deliver end‑to‑end features.
  • Contribute to documentation (technical specs, user guides) and to continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a CS/Software Engineering (or related) degree.
  • Strong programming skills in Node.js or Go and familiarity with backend frameworks, libraries, and tools.
  • Basic understanding of web technologies, HTTP/REST APIs, and databases (SQL, schema design).
  • Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and eagerness to keep up with industry trends.
  • Good problem-solving, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD (Git, Jenkins), NoSQL, caching, and distributed systems.
