About the job:
Fastly seeks a Senior Manager for the Network Architecture team to lead engineers
responsible for ensuring the success of the edge network. This role involves driving the
development of fault-tolerant, scalable, and high-performing network architectures,
integrating switching infrastructure with distributed systems.
Job Responsibilities:
→ Lead, mentor, and coach a diverse team of developers, architects, and engineers to
deliver new systems and support existing ones.
→ Prioritize the team’s roadmap and provide direction in developing new topologies
and architecture.
→ Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to improve performance,
automation, and efficiency.
→ Guide the team on engineering practices to craft high-quality systems.
What We’re Looking For:
→ 10 years of software development experience, with 5 years in a management role.
→ Expertise in interdomain traffic engineering, BGP, DNS technologies, and
troubleshooting network issues.
→ Experience in distributed systems and highly available environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
→ Expertise in network design and deployment methodologies.
→ Track record of implementing self-healing systems at a global scale.
→ Experience with acute incident response.
Work Hours:
This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
Work Locations & Travel Requirements:
This position is open to multiple office locations, including San Francisco, New York, and
Denver. Fastly embraces a hybrid work model, allowing flexibility between office and
home.
Salary:
The estimated salary range for this position is $195,720 to $244,640, with variations based
on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
