About the Role:

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on the Google Cloud team, you will provide technical
leadership on high-impact cloud projects. You will influence and coach distributed teams
of engineers, facilitate alignment on goals and timelines, and oversee the design,
development, testing, deployment, and enhancement of large-scale software solutions
that power Google’s cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:

o Technical Leadership: Lead architecture and design reviews, set technical
direction, and ensure best practices across multiple cloud projects.
o Team Coaching: Mentor and influence engineers across teams and regions,
fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
o Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate with product managers, site reliability,
security, and operations teams to align on priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
o Solution Development: Architect, implement, and maintain high-performance,
scalable software systems for Google Cloud infrastructure.
o Issue Resolution: Triage and resolve critical production issues, driving
improvements in reliability and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

→ Minimum Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
practical experience.
o 8+ years of professional software development experience.
o 5+ years of experience in software design, architecture, and product
launches.
→ Preferred Qualifications:
o Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical
field.
o 8+ years of experience with complex data structures, algorithms, and
large-scale system design.
o 5+ years in technical leadership roles, setting strategy and guiding project
teams.
o 3+ years working in large, matrixed organizations with cross-functional,
cross-business collaborations.
o Strong communication skills and a track record of driving impactful
technical decisions.
