About the Role:
As a Software Engineer Intern at Red Hat, you’ll be an active team member—not just a trainee.
You’ll work side by side with mentors and seasoned engineers on real projects, gaining practical experience in areas like Linux, OpenShift, automation, and AI.
This internship offers learning, networking, and social engagement, empowering you to develop skills while working on meaningful software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
📌 Collaborate with mentors and global teams to design, develop, and maintain code in Python, Golang, or similar languages
📌 Add new features, debug, and resolve issues in Red Hat products (RHEL, OpenShift, etc.)
📌 Participate in team discussions and work closely with Quality Engineering, Documentation, Product Management, and Designers
📌 Network with other interns, share ideas, and engage in social and professional activities
📌 Learn Agile workflows, use tools like GitHub, and pick up new technology skills
📌 Bring curiosity, creativity, and a passion for solving real-world problems
Requirements:
🎯 Pursuing full-time studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
🎯 Basic skills and interest in Python, Golang, or similar programming language
🎯 Good written and spoken English
🎯 Willingness to learn and proactively contribute in a team setting
🎯 Can commit to a 6-month internship from January – July 2026
