Job Description:

Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and
engineer’s high-profile consumer electronics, including the Kindle, Fire TV, and Amazon
Echo. We are looking for a Support Engineer, Device OS to join our Core Device OS team
in Bangalore. You will be working on critical OS components, services, tools, and
application development frameworks that push the boundaries of customer-device
interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level support for handling Jiras, tickets, and operational issues from
    production services.
  • Troubleshoot and debug incoming Jiras and tickets, covering multiple product
    lines and ensuring smooth system operations.
  • Work on maintenance-driven coding projects primarily using C++ and Python.
  • Read and understand complex application code, making code fixes to resolve
    support issues.
  • Develop tools and automate manual operational tasks to enhance service
    maintenance and efficiency.
  • Build monitoring metrics dashboards to report system health and support status
    metrics.
  • Collaborate with remote development teams (Sunnyvale) for hand-offs and to
    create a team-specific knowledge base.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of software development or technical support experience.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging technical systems.
  • Hands-on experience in Unix and scripting languages (Python, C++).
  • Strong ability to read and understand complex application code.
  • Experience in developing tools for task automation and maintaining services
    effectively
