🎯 About the Role:
As a Tech Lead – .NET Developer at CACTUS, you’ll drive the design, development, and evolution of modern digital platforms — shaping architecture decisions, leading globally distributed engineering teams, and translating business objectives into high-impact scalable solutions.With .NET + Azure + microservices expertise, engineers in this role command a 20–40% salary premium over standard .NET role — and at CACTUS, you’ll get to build cloud-native systems that power research tools used by scientists worldwide! ☁️🚀

🗂️ Key Responsibilities:

  • 🏗️ Own and lead the design, development, and delivery of key subsystems within the digital platform ecosystem — driving architecture evolution toward microservices and event-driven systems
  • 👥 Provide technical and people leadership across globally distributed engineering teams — mentoring engineers and fostering a collaborative, high-performing Agile team culture
  • 🔌 Design and build secure, high-performance web applications and RESTful APIs using .NET technologies while driving cloud-native development practices across AWS/Azure environments
  • ⚙️ Establish engineering best practices — including code quality standards, automated testing, and CI/CD implementation — while translating business objectives into scalable, executable delivery plans

✅ Requirements:

🔑 Must-Haves:

  • 🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • 💻 8+ years of experience building full-stack applications using C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET, and REST APIs
  • 👥 Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams and delivering large-scale distributed systems
  • 💬 Strong stakeholder communication skills with experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

🛠️ Technical Skills:

  • ☁️ Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) and modern DevOps practices
  • 🔄 Hands-on experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and CI/CD pipelines
  • ⚛️ Proficiency with frontend technologies — Angular or React along with JavaScript / TypeScript
  • 🗃️ Experience with SQL Server or other RDBMS and exposure to NoSQL databases like MongoDB
  • 🌍 Comfortable working in EST time zones collaborating with global teams
