π‘About the Role:
Policies create direction.People create impact.Jhpiego is looking for a Senior Program Officer (Nursing Standards) to work closely with the Government of Bihar in strengthening nursing education, regulatory systems, workforce quality, and institutional standards across the state.This is more than a program management role. You’ll help improve nursing education, support regulatory reforms, strengthen healthcare institutions, and contribute to building a future-ready nursing workforce that directly improves patient care across Bihar.
πKey Responsibilities:
π Support the Government of Bihar in implementing nursing education and regulatory initiatives ποΈ
π Coordinate with the Health Department, State Health Society Bihar, BNRC, INC, and healthcare partners π€
π Strengthen compliance with Indian Nursing Council (INC) standards across nursing institutions π
π Review and evaluate applications for new nursing colleges and educational programs π
π Monitor nursing institutions and ensure quality standards are consistently maintained π
π Support BNRC portal operations, dashboards, reporting, and institutional data management π
π Coordinate admissions and counselling processes for ANM, GNM, B.Sc, PB B.Sc, and M.Sc Nursing programs π
π Develop technical reports, presentations, compliance documents, and policy recommendations π
π Monitor project indicators, timelines, budgets, and program outcomes π
π Collaborate with government officials, development partners, nursing institutions, and technical teams to strengthen healthcare delivery π
π―Requirements:
π― M.Sc Nursing (Any Specialty) or B.Sc Nursing with Master’s in Public Health π
π― 5β7 years of experience in Public Health, Nursing Programs, or Healthcare Management π©ββοΈ
π― Experience working with Health Departments, NHM, regulatory bodies, or government healthcare projects π₯
π― Strong understanding of nursing education systems and Indian Nursing Council guidelines π
π― Experience in project coordination, reporting, monitoring, and stakeholder management π
π― Excellent analytical, documentation, and presentation skills π¬
π― Strong communication skills in English and Hindi π£οΈ
π― Proficiency in Microsoft Office and program reporting tools π»
