🌟Great Games Aren’t Just Played. They’re Designed Around How People Think.

A good game doesn’t simply give players something to do.

It gives them a reason to come back.

Electronic Arts is looking for a Game Designer II in Hyderabad to shape systems, economies, progression and live-service experiences for Golf Clash.

You’ll work where player psychology meets game mechanics — using data, telemetry, player feedback and competitive research to build experiences that feel rewarding without losing their depth.

This is a role for a mobile game designer who can think beyond individual features and understand how an entire system behaves when millions of player decisions interact with it.

🌟About Electronic Arts:
Electronic Arts is a global interactive entertainment company behind franchises such as EA SPORTS, The Sims, Need for Speed, Battlefield and Star Wars.

Its Hyderabad studio is one of EA Mobile’s major development centres, bringing together hundreds of professionals across game design, engineering, testing, production and live services.

The studio focuses heavily on building and operating mobile games that evolve continuously after launch.

💡About the Role:
As a Game Designer II, you’ll own medium-to-large game systems and live-service improvements for Golf Clash.

Your work will span game economy design, progression systems, live events, matchmaking, leaderboards, rewards and player journeys.

You’ll turn player problems and business goals into clearly defined systems, then use metrics and feedback to refine them after release.

The role also involves mentoring junior designers and leading design conversations across product, engineering, analytics, UX, QA and production.

📌Key Responsibilities:
📌 Own and deliver medium-to-large game systems, economy features and live-service initiatives.

📌 Design progression experiences that improve the new-to-mid-game journey while maintaining long-term depth.

📌 Lead the design of live events covering structure, pacing, rewards, segmentation and matchmaking.

📌 Develop and tune economy systems involving coins, Club Cards, rewards, progression and player value exchange.

📌 Create detailed game design documentation covering player motivations, requirements, dependencies, edge cases and success metrics.

📌 Break complex systems into practical deliverables for development teams.

📌 Define and refine feature KPIs with product, analytics and design leadership.

📌 Use telemetry, playtesting, player sentiment and competitive research to guide design decisions.

📌 Work with engineering, UX, art, product, analytics, QA and production to deliver polished features.

📌 Analyse cross-system dependencies across progression, rewards, economy, matchmaking and live operations.

📌 Review other designers’ work and provide actionable feedback.

📌 Mentor junior game designers through reviews, tuning discussions and implementation guidance.

📌 Conduct competitive analysis of mobile F2P and casual games.

📌 Identify design risks, technical dependencies and ambiguous requirements before they affect delivery.

📌 Regularly play and evaluate Golf Clash to identify player pain points and opportunities.

🎯Requirements:
🎯 Minimum 5+ years of professional game design experience.

🎯 Experience with mobile F2P or live-service games is highly relevant.

🎯 Proven experience owning game systems, economy features, live events or progression from concept through live operation.

🎯 Strong understanding of systems and economy design.

🎯 Ability to connect design changes with player behaviour, engagement, retention, balance and monetisation.

🎯 Experience defining hypotheses, success metrics, tuning plans and post-launch improvements.

🎯 Ability to use telemetry, metrics, playtesting and player feedback for design decisions.

🎯 Familiarity with game data systems, proprietary tools and design-to-engineering workflows.

🎯 Strong documentation and communication skills.

🎯 Ability to lead cross-functional design discussions and resolve ambiguity.

🎯 Experience reviewing designs and mentoring junior designers.

🎯 Strong understanding of mobile F2P progression, live ops, rewards and economy balance.

🌟Preferred Skills:
✅ Economy and progression design.

✅ Matchmaking and leaderboard systems.

✅ Live event frameworks.

✅ A/B testing and player segmentation.

✅ Telemetry dashboards and KPI-driven iteration.

✅ Unity and Perforce.

✅ Scripting, XML and SQL.

✅ Analytics tools and proprietary GameData workflows.

✅ Experience with sports, competitive multiplayer or skill-based PvP games.

🔥Career Insight:
Game design becomes more powerful when you stop designing features and start designing behaviour.

Every reward changes motivation.

Every progression system changes what players value.

Every piece of friction changes whether they continue.

The strongest game designers learn to see those connections — then use data and creativity to turn them into better experiences.
